The Osteria della Croce Bianca offers its services to hotel guests and external patrons.
To better enjoy your stay in every aspect, in addition to the cosy rooms, our restaurant offers you traditional Piedmontese and Occitan cuisine. We use organic, locally-sourced products from short and controlled supply chains, wild products offered by the surrounding woods and vegetables grown in the village. The bread, fresh pasta and desserts are made by us. A cuisine accompanied by excellent wines, mostly from Piedmont.
Barbara takes care of the menus herself from conception to preparation
For our half-board guests, there is a different menu daily with 2 starters that change every day, a choice between several first and second courses, and dessert. There are always vegetarian dishes on offer and great attention is given to allergens for any food intolerances and allergies.
For guests of the restaurant only: Tasting Menu or à la Carte
For all, in any case, traditional Occitan and Piedmontese dishes, with careful attention to the raw ingredients, seasonality and quality.
The ingredients are obtained as far as possible from local suppliers: Piedmontese meat from Prazzo, cheeses from Marmora, San Damiano and La Morra, honey from Preit di Canosio and flour from the Mulino della Riviera di Dronero. The herbs and vegetables are freshly picked in the vegetable garden here in Borgata Vernetti. And not forgetting the most important ingredient – Barbara’s passion for cooking – which, mixing tradition with a little creativity, aims to offer customers simple but tasty and fragrant dishes.
Thanks to Mario you will sample our rustic bread, or maybe hand-stretched grissini and fresh pasta made for you on the spot: tajarin, tagliatelle and pappardelle.

The Osteria della Croce Bianca is at the centre of the hamlet of Marmora. An essential part of the inn where Barbara & Mario share their vision of life, we could not call their Occitan cuisine by any other name. The result of careful and in-depth research into the traditions of the area, invaluable experience and the products that Valle Maira has to offer, they offer a high level of cuisine in the natural environment of the Osteria. Stone and wood are the protagonists, the walls covered in memories, testimony to a time past and the many connoisseurs who have passed through, enjoying the world of flavors that have been concocted here in the centre of an ancient valley and authentically close to nature.
